Sweet, full flavor that completes any meal from the grill
We can’t have a summer event here by the water without Cheryl Rhea’s Baked Beans. Whether we have barbecue, burgers and dogs, or chicken, these baked beans are a favorite of family and friends. Even folks who don’t particularly like baked beans simply can’t resist the flavor of this summertime treat and surprise themselves by going back for seconds. Perfect with anything off the grill, I can promise that once you try them, you will never think of baked beans in the same way ever again.
However, a warning to the chef…use the exact ingredients as listed below. If you substitute different brands, you are taking a culinary risk that may adulterate the flavor.
From start to finish, this recipe will take you 5 minutes to prepare and 1 hour to bake.
2 – 15 oz. cans Van Camp’s Baked Beans (Pork and Beans style)
1/2 cup Heinz Ketchup
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/4 cup dark brown sugar
1/2 tsp ground mustard
2 hot dogs (sliced into bite-sized pieces)
Combine all ingredients in a baking dish, and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
A perfect pairing for these beans Cheryl’s Slaw.
