Guacamole Especial

This is a variation of my my friend John Hyatt’s amazing guacamole. It is a year-round favorite at my house.

From start to finish, this recipe will take you 5-10 minutes.

Guacamole Especial is a very tasty appetizer to enjoy while grilling.

2 ripe Haas avocados
1 tbsp. minced garlic
3 tbsp. cilantro — finely chopped
1 – 2 tbsp. good salsa of your choice (We use Jack’s Special Medium Salsa)
Juice of 1/2 squeezed lime
Kosher Salt and Ground Pepper to taste

Tortilla chips of your choice

Slice avocados in half, pit them, and place them in serving dish. Add garlic, cilantro, lime juice, salsa, salt, and pepper. Use a knife to slice through the mixture at different angles. The Barefoot Contessa shares this trick for making sure your guacamole is chunky and delicious. Although our recipes are different, you can watch Ina demonstrate how to use the knife to ensure you have delicious, chunky guacamole here.

Enjoy with chips of your choice.
